One of America's best known comfort foods. Ideal for cold weather lunches, quick dinners, and picky children. Almost everyone loves creamy, delicious, Velveeta cheese and shells. Leftovers microwave well so it's a lunchbox favorite too. This basic recipe can be dressed up for gourmet diners by adding shredded lobster or lump crab and shaved black truffles. Broccoli is a favorite addition too. You can add almost any cooked chopped meat or vegetable for almost endless variety.

Slice the cheese into small squares.  Then combine all the ingredients in a large bowl and stir.  Pour the mixture into an oven safe dish and bake at 350 for 1 hour.  At 30 minutes, remove from the oven just long enough to stir then return to heat. For creamier results cut back a little on the baking time.  If you prefer a crunchy crust, bake a little longer.
