  • 4 (medium sized) sweet apples
  • ½ C. brown sugar
  • ¼ C. walnuts
  • ¼ C. cranberries
  • 4 Tbs. butter
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg

Heat the oven to 450 degrees. Slice a thin layer off of the top of the apples so that you can remove the core and insides. Once the apples are in the shape of a bowl, start mixing the filling. In a small bowl, combine the rest of the ingredients except for the butter. Pour the mixture into the hollowed apples and top with a thin slice of butter and a sprinkle of brown sugar and cinnamon. Pour water into a pan so that just the bottom of the apples are covered. Bake for 50 minutes or until the apples are tender. Enjoy with a cold scoop of ice cream.
