White Cornbread

Using white cornmeal gives this simple recipe a cleaner look. Not the traditional color, but fun to try and tastes the same.

Ingredients

  • 1 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1 C. white cornmeal
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp cooking oil
  • 1 C. milk

Directions

Place first five ingredients in large bowl. In measuring cup, add milk, egg, and oil. Blend well. Add to dry ingredients mixing well. Bake in well-oiled pan at 425 degrees until brown on top or when knife inserted comes out clean.
