  • 2 C. whole wheat flour
  • 1 C. all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 C. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 C. molasses
  • 2 C. buttermilk
  • 1/3 C. oats

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, mix flours, baking soda and brown sugar. Slowly pour in molasses and buttermilk until well combined. Pour batter into a greased and floured 9-by-5-inch loaf pan. Sprinkle oats. Feel free to add more oats if you desire. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes. Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
