Wild Rice Casserole

I got this recipe from a friend many years ago. It is a favorite at family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 boxes instant wild rice
  • 1 16 oz. carton sour cream
  • 1-3 cans green chilis
  • 8 oz. mozzarella cheese, grated (more if desired)

Directions

Prepare rice according to package directions. Mix together sour cream and green chilis. Grease a casserole dish. Layer rice, sour cream mixture, and cheese in casserole dish. Repeat in same order reserving cheese to be added later. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until bubbly. Sprinkle reserved cheese on top and return to over for 5 minutes.

  • This recipe should use Monterrey Jack cheese rather than mozzarella cheese. I'm sure mozzarella would work OK tho'.
