Winter Roast

This is a simple preparation with delicious, slow-cooked results.

  • 1 C. ketchup
  • 1/4 C. brown sugar BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 dried minced onion or 1 C. fresh chopped onion
  • 3 Tbs. vinegar
  • 5 slices hickory smoke bacon
  • 3-5 lb. top round or chuck roast
  • Salt Pepper to taste

Mix first 4 ingredients in medium bowl.  Chop 3 slices bacon and stir into sauce mix.  Place roast in crock pot and pour sauce over the top.  Top with remaining 2 slices of bacon for garnish.  Cook 7 hours on low.  Let set 10 minutes.  Slice for serving adding extra sauce as desired.
