  • 2 sticks butter, divided
  • ¾ C. sugar
  • 2 oz. dark chocolate, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • Dash salt
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. allspice
  • ½ tsp. ginger
  • ¾ C. self-rising flour
  • ½ C. milk
  • 1 C. powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • Green food coloring
  • Edible pearls to decorate

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, cream together 1 stick of butter and sugar until fluffy. Mix in chocolate and eggs until smooth. In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, cinnamon, allspice, and ginger; mix into batter gradually, alternating with milk. Once well combined, pour into cupcake liners and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Set aside to cool completely. In a large bowl, beat remaining butter until pale and fluffy. Mix in powdered sugar and cream gradually until smooth. Briefly beat in vanilla and food coloring. Pipe on your festive trees and decorate with edible ornaments!
