Yellow Squash Dressing

This is a very old and wonderful dressing to use instead of your typical turkey and dressing recipe. You can make it with fresh or frozen yellow squash. You can also use this year round.

Ingredients

  • 2 C. squash, cooked and drained
  • 2 C. cornbread, crumbled
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 tsp. sage
  • 1 can cream of mushroom, celery, or chicken soup
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 large onion, chopped fine
  • 1 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 C. milk

Directions

Combine all ingredients, add eggs last. Mix and pour into baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees until cooked through.

  • I usually make my own mushroom soup and i did with this one as well.........this is a great recipe. I did make some changes and not to deter from this wonderful recipe. You can not go wrong with this recipe.
