Yummy Beer Bread Recipe

This bread is always a big hit. The recipe was given to me years ago, and I can't tell you how many loaves I've made. In fact, I baked 12 loaves last weekend for a BBQ plate fundraiser at church. It tastes like homemade yeast bread but not as much work.

  • 3 C. self-rising flour
  • 3 Tbs. sugar
  • 1 12 oz. can room temperature beer

Combine all 3 ingredients. Spray bottom (only) of bread pan and pour in batter. Bake in 350 degree oven 45-50 minutes, depending on your oven (until top is nice and brown). Remove from pan (you will have to use a knife to loosen sides) and cool on rack. Brush top of loaf with melted butter or just rub a stick of butter over the top.
