This is a great breakfast pastry. It can be prepared the night before.

  • 2 cans Crescent rolls
  • 2 8-oz. pkg. cream cheese
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 2 Tbs. soft margarine
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon/sugar mixture

Mix softened cream cheese and sugar until well blended. Spread one can of crescent rolls in the bottom of a large oblong Pyrex pan. Gently press dough to cover bottom. Spread cream cheese mixture over dough. Top with remaining can of crescent rolls. It is not necessary to be sure the dough is touching. Spread softened margarine over top layer of dough and sprinkle with the cinnamon/sugar mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until browned.

If you prep this recipe the night before, do not put the margarine and cinnamon/sugar mixture on until right before baking.

If you prep the night before and use a Pyrex pan, do not preheat the oven. Place the pan in the oven when you turn it on so the pan doesn't crack from the extreme temp. change.

This recipe can easily be halved and baked in an 8-inch square pan.
