  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 C. milk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 pkg. elbow macaroni
  • 3 C. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Melt the butter in a saucepan and stir in the flour. Cook 1 minute while stirring. Add the milk, salt, pepper, and mustard. Cook until the mixture boils and thickens. Meanwhile, boil the pasta according to the directions and drain. Add the cheese to the milk mixture slowly and stir until it is melted. Combine the macaroni and cheese sauce in a baking dish and bake for 30 minutes until hot and bubbling. Top with extra cheese if desired.
