  • 1 pound of chicken wings
  • 2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 2 teaspoon of smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 ½ cup of ketchup
  • ½ cup of whiskey
  • ½ cup of dark brown sugar
  • ¼ cup of onion, minced
  • ¼ cup of Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ cup of vinegar
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of liquid smoke flavoring
  • 1 tablespoon of molasses
  • 2 teaspoons of cayenne
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • ½ teaspoon of pepper

As the oven preheats to 400 degrees, thoroughly coat the chicken wings with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. As the chicken wings bake for 40 minutes, prepare the BBQ sauce. Cook ketchup, whiskey, dark brown sugar, onion, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, garlic, liquid smoke, molasses, cayenne, salt and pepper in a large saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil and then let simmer for 30 minutes. Once the sauce is thick, pour over the chicken wings and return to oven. Let the wings cook for an additional ten minutes before serving.
