8 rolls


  • 2/3 C water
1/3 C uncooked white rice
8 cabbage leaves
1 lb lean ground beef
1/4 C chopped onion
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
11 oz condensed tomato soup

Boil water in saucepan. Add rice and stir, then reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
Boil lightly salted water in saucepan. Add cabbage leaves to pan and cook for 2 to 4 minutes, then drain.
Mix ground beef, cooked rice, onion, egg, salt, pepper and 2 tablespoons of tomato soup in bowl.
serve beef mixture into cabbage leaves. then rolls them into bundles and secure with toothpicks. Place the cabbage rolls in a large skillet over medium heat and pour the remaining tomato soup over them. Cover and boil, then reduce heat to low, simmer and stir for 40 minutes.
Serve warm.
