These crunchy, sweet, baked treats of pecans, cinnamon and sugar are wonderful for holiday get-togethers or wrapped in beautiful little airtight containers to give as gifts.

  • 1 lb. pecan halves
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 Tbs. water
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Beat egg white and water until stiff; add pecans and coat well. In another bowl, mix sugar, salt and cinnamon. Pour sugar mixture over pecans and mix well until coated completely. Pour onto foil-lined cookie sheet and bake for 40 minutes. Stir every 10 minutes or else it will stick.When done, place on waxed paper to cool, break apart. Enjoy now or store in air-tight container.

  • DO NOT cook these for 40 minutes. That is about twice what it takes to get them to the right stage. Just wasted a batch of pecans on that mistake. 20-25 minutes is plenty.
