  • 2 (12 oz.) New York strip steaks
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tbs. extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbs. butter
  • 2 thyme sprigs
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Season steaks with salt and ground pepper. Warm olive oil in a large cast-iron skillet over high heat.

Add steaks to skillet and cook for 3 minutes on each side or until well browned. Decrease heat to medium-low. Add butter, thyme and garlic to skillet. Tilt pan so butter is evenly spread. Cook for 1 1/2 minutes.

Set steaks aside to cool. Slice once steak has cooled.
