Potatoes au gratin are so cheesy and crispy. This dish is can be made pretty simply but it will definitely still please the crowd. It’s a great holiday dish because all of the flavors complement each other so well. Try making this at your next potluck!

  • 2 lb. potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 5 Tbs. butter, divided
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 Tbs. Dijon mustard
  • 2 C. half and half
  • ¾ C. gruyere cheese, shredded
  • ½ tsp. ground nutmeg

In a skillet, heat the butter and add in the onions and stir until they’re fragrant. Add in the garlic after about 10 minutes and saute. Next add in the Dijon, nutmeg, and half and half. Stir in the potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes. Remove the contents into a baking dish and sprinkle the gruyere on top. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes until the top is golden brown.
