This chicken recipe will add a little kick to your nightly dinner. With the spice of the chilies and the savory taste of the tomatoes this chicken recipe has the perfect balance of sweet and spicy.

  • 4 bone in, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs to make up same amount)
  • 2 can diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • 2 - 1/2 C. chicken broth
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 3 tbsp basil, chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • salt and pepper to taste

Load all the ingredients, except the chicken into the crockpot and cook on high.  Then place the chicken on baking dish and set in the oven for about 20 minutes at 450 degrees or until a brown color coat the chicken. Then place in the cooker and set on high.  Bake for 40-50 minutes.  If desired remove the chicken breasts, debone and shred slightly. Return shredded chicken to crockpot and allow to heat through. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve over rice or noodles.
