Homemade waffles are so much better than toasted frozen waffles and these original blueberry waffles are delicious and topped with additional fresh fruit and chocolate.

  • 2 cup blueberries
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 ½ cups whole milk
  • Chocolate sauce

Beat the egg whites and preheat the waffle iron. Sift together the sugar, salt and baking powder. Stir in the milk, melted butter, and egg yolks gradually. Fold in 1 cup blueberries and then fold in the egg whites. Pour the batter in the waffle iron and cook. Drizzle the waffles with chocolate sauce and serve with remaining blueberries.
