  • 1 C. whole milk
  • 1/3 C. butter, melted
  • 2 egg
  • 1 1/4 C. yellow cornmeal
  • 1 C. flour
  • 1/3 C. sugar
  • 1 Tbs. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease baking pan with shortening. In large bowl, beat together milk, butter, and eggs. Add in cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt and mix until batter is lumpy. Pour into pan and bake for 20 minutes or until cornbread is golden brown. Serve warm.
