  • 2 C. cake flour
  • ½ C. cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 C. brown sugar
  • 3 T. butter
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 C. sour cream
  • 2 T. extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 1/2 C. powdered sugar
  • 3 T. melted chocolate chips

Begin by whisking together the cake flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. In the bowl, beat the butter and sugar together, then add the egg yolks and sour cream. Mix both mixtures together. Now form donuts with the dough or use a donut cutter. Pour oil into a pot and heat to 325 degrees F. Fry a batch of donuts at a time for about 2 minutes per side. When donuts are ready, pour melted chocolate on top and some powdered sugar.
