  • 2 lb. fresh asparagus, ends trimmed
  • 12 slices bacon
  • 1/2 C. light brown sugar
  • 1/2 C. butter
  • 1 T. soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp. freshly ground pepper

Preheat your oven to 400°F. Separate the asparagus spears into 12 bundles. Wrap the center each bundle with one piece of bacon, using a toothpick to hold each in place. Transfer the bacon-wrapped asparagus to a shallow baking dish. In a small saucepan, stir together brown sugar, butter, soy sauce, garlic salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil before drizzling on top of the asparagus. Roast in the oven for 25 minutes. Let stand for five minutes before serving.
