Simple green beans and potatoes are a great southern side dish for the whole family! Cook these tender vegetables in the crockpot for a flavorful dish.

  • 1 white onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 C. chicken broth
  • 2 lb. fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 lb. red potatoes, chopped
  • salt and black pepper, to taste

Cook the onion in a Dutch oven until browned, about 10 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook another 2 minutes. Place the onions and garlic on the bottom of a slow cooker. Pour the broth on top and add the green beans and potatoes. Cover and cook on low for 5 hours. Season with salt and pepper and serve.
