  • 1 lb. hot Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • one 15-oz. cans Italian stewed tomatoes
  • two 5-oz. cans black beans, rinsed and drained
  • two 15-oz. cans navy beans, liquid reserved
  • two 14-oz. cans beef broth
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tsp. dried basil

Cut Italian sausage into 1/2-inch pieces. In skillet, brown Italian sausage and onion, drain, and transfer to a 5- to 6-quart crockpot.  Stir in stewed tomatoes, black beans, navy beans, beef broth, garlic, and basil. Mix well.  Cover and cook on low for 5 to 7 hours.
