  • 32 caramels
  • 2/3 C. evaporated milk
  • 1 C. flour
  • 1 C. oatmeal, uncooked
  • 1 C. chopped cashews
  • 1/2 C. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 C. butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 C. variety of dried fruit

Combine caramels and milk in pan and cook until melted, stirring constantly. Combine flour, oatmeal, nuts, sugar, soda and salt; add butter and mix well. Reserve 1 C. for the top. Press remaining mixture in bottom of greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Sprinkle 1 C. dried fruit over crust, drizzle caramel mixture over the fruit, then sprinkle reserved crumbs over caramel and rest of the dried fruit. Bake 20 to 25 minutes at 350 degrees.
