Dry Rub for Barbecue

You can adjust the proportions of spices in this all-purpose rub or add or subtract a spice, as you wish. This rub works well with ribs and brisket as well as with Boston butt for pulled pork.

  • 4 Tbs. sweet paprika
  • 2 Tbs. chili powder
  • 2 Tbs. ground cumin
  • 2 Tbs. dark brown sugar
  • 2 Tbs. salt
  • 1 Tbs. dried oregano
  • 1 Tbs. granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbs. ground black pepper
  • 1 Tbs. ground white pepper
  • 1 tsp. cayenne pepper

Mix all of the ingredients together in a small bowl. (The rub can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for several weeks.)
