  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 C. white onion, diced
  • 1 tsp. garlic, minced
  • 1 (24 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce
  • 1/2 C. water
  • 1 (15 oz.) container ricotta cheese
  • 2 C. mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 C. Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbs. fresh parsley
  • 6 uncooked lasagna noodles

In a large skillet, brown the beef and sauté the onion. Add the garlic and cook for an additional minute. Drain. Add the sauce and water. Simmer for about 5 minutes. In a bowl, mix the ricotta, 1 1/2 C. mozzarella, 2 Tbs. Parmesan, egg, and parsley. Pour 1 C. meat sauce into the bottom of crockpot. Place half of the noodles and half of the cheese mixture on top. Cover with 2 C. meat sauce. Layer the remaining noodles, cheese, and sauce. Cook on low for 4 to 5 hours, or until the noodles are soft. Sprinkle with 1/2 C. mozzarella and remaining Parmesan. Cover to melt the cheese and let it sit for 10 minutes before serving.
