  • 1 lb. of boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Peanut oil
  • 1 cup of corn starch
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons of chili oil
  • 2 tablespoons of sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger
  • 6 dried red chilies, halved
  • 1/3 cup of chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoons of rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of Hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of Sriracha sauce
  • ¼ cup of green onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds
  • salt and pepper

Beat egg with soy sauce, garlic powder, chili oil and a bit of salt and pepper. Coat the chicken with the mixture in a container and let it marinate for half an hour.
In a pan, heat sesame oil and mix in ginger, chili and brown sugar. Add broth, vinegar, Hoisin sauce and Sriracha sauce. Simmer for a few minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and mix with green onion and sesame seeds. Set aside.
Once the chicken has finished marinating, toss it in the corn starch.
In a frying vessel or deep saucepan or skillet, heat peanut oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Fry the coated chicken pieces for about 3-4 minutes in small batches, placing each bath on a paper towel to let it absorb some of the oil afterwards.
Toss the chicken with the sauce and make sure all the pieces are evenly coated.
Serve with rice!
