These super simple masquerade cookies are the way to go if you want an easy Mardis Gras dessert. No need to go buying special spices, or ingredients, you can celebrate the holiday without leaving your house!

  • ½ C. butter
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • ½ tsp. baking powder
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • 2 C. flour
  • Colored icing and candy eyeballs for decorating

Preheat the oven for 40 degrees. Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together. In a standing mixer, cream the sugar and butter together. Add in the egg and vanilla and mix well. Combine the butter mixture with the flour mixture. Dust the dough with a little more flour and form the dough into 18 ovals. Flatten the ovals and pinch the sides up to form a horn shape. Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes and let them cool. Ice the cookies and decorate them!
