Cobb salads come in all different shapes and sizes; and we don't discriminate. Here's our favorite version, one that can be easily customized to your preferences. Add croutons, different, cheeses, greens - anything you'd like!

Serving Size / Yield

5 servings


  • ½ C. of romaine lettuce,
  • ½ C. frisee
  • ½ C. rocket lettuce
  • ½ C. Boston lettuce
  • 2 C. watercress leaves (discard the stems)
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 2 large eggs, boiled, shelled, and roughly chopped
  • 10 strips of bacon, cooked, drained, and chopped
  • 2 ripe avocados, seeded, cubed, and seasoned with salt, pepper and lemon juice
  • 2 C. of boiled or steamed chicken breast meat, chopped into 1-cm cubes
  • 1 tsp. finely chopped chives
  • dressing:
  • ⅓ C. red wine vinegar
  • 2 Tbs. Dijon mustard
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 C. extra virgin olive oil
  • sugar to taste
  • ½ cup finely grated parmesan

In a large bowl, combine and toss all the greens
In a glass serving bowl, arrange the Cobb Salad in layers on top of the greens, starting with the chicken
Continue with the bacon, tomato, avocado, eggs and chives
Combine all the dressing ingredients in a bowl or cup and pour over salad or serve separately
Top with parmesan
