  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons margarine, melted

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a cast iron skillet. Mix together the flour, baking soda and sugar. Toss the raisins with the flour mixture. Make a divot in the center of the flour and add the buttermilk, egg and melted butter. Stir until all the ingredients are well combined. Knead the dough a few times and then roll into a flat circle. Place in the greased skillet. Bake the dough for 40-45 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
