It’s springtime! Everyone is ready to whip out the grill and these pork chops are a great start to BBQ season. The basil imparts a subtle sweetness while the lemon pepper is a bit sharp so these flavors complement each other so well.

  • 1 pound of pork chops
  • 4 tablespoons of fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 tablespoon of lemon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of cayenne
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 pound of potatoes, diced
  • 4 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the pork chops:
As the grill preheats, mix together the basil, lemon pepper, brown sugar, garlic powder and cayenne in a large bowl. Rub the seasonings onto the pork chops and then grill for 10 minutes on each side. Serve with a side salad and roasted potatoes.

For the potatoes:
As the oven preheats to 400 degrees, toss the potatoes in olive oil with salt and pepper. Line the potatoes evenly on a baking sheet and let roast for 30 minutes or until the inside is tender and the skin is crispy.
