When you want a homemade bread to serve at your next barbecue or gathering, grilled flatbread is a fast and easy choice. It takes 30 minutes from preparation time to ready serve to your family and guests. You can use it to compliment your meal, or add toppings, sauce or dip as a tasty appetizer or snack.

Serving Size / Yield

4 flatbreads


  • 1/2 Tbs. active dry yeast
  • 1/2 C. warm water (100 degrees to 110 degrees)
  • 1/2 Tbs. light corn syrup or honey
  • 2 1/2 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. Kosher salt
  • 6 tsp. olive oil, for brushing

Preheat your grill to medium
Heat water to 110 degrees and put in a bowl
Add the yeast and honey and stir until the yeast is completely dissolved
Let it sit until foamy, which should take about 10 minutes
Pour 2 cups of the flour and the Kosher salt into the water, yeast, and honey combination
Mix with a spoon until it clumps into dough consistency
Dust your counter with flour and begin kneading the dough
Add the remaining ½ cup of flour in while kneading
When no longer sticky, divide the dough into 4 balls
Roll each ball into a 5 x 7 sheet
Brush each side with olive oil and place on the hot grill
Grill on each side until grill marks appear
Serve the flatbread right off the grill
