  • 3 C. whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp. honey
  • 1 C. warm milk
  • 1 Tbs. butter, salted
  • 1/2 C. warm water
  • 2 1/4 tsp. yeast
  • 1 egg, beaten at room temperature

Slowly mix flour with honey, butter and yeast. Add water, milk and egg. Beat with electric mixer on low speed for 1 minute, scraping bowl frequently. Place dough on lightly floured surface. Knead about 5 minutes or until dough is smooth and springy. Place dough in large bowl greased with butter, turning dough to grease all sides. Cover bowl loosely with plastic warp and let rise for 1 hour. Place dough on greased cookie sheets. Push fist into dough to deflate. Cut dough in half. Roll each half into a 12-inch circle on floured surface. Spread with softened butter. Cut each circle into 16 wedges. Roll each wedge. Place rolls on cookie sheets and curve slightly. Brush with butter. Preheat oven at 375 degrees F. Cover rolls loosely with plastic wrap and let it rise for about 30 minutes. Bake 12 to 15 minutes in oven or until golden brown.
