This recipe makes a dozen delicious turkey sliders in just half an hour! The untraditional veggie toppings consist of spinach and bell peppers with lemon zest, made sweet and sour just right to complement the ground turkey patties.

  • 12 mini burger buns, warmed or toasted based on preference
  • 2 lbs. of ground turkey
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 red onions, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon of mirin
  • 6 cups of baby spinach
  • 2 large yellow bell peppers, chopped
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a large bowl, combine, ground turkey, eggs, red onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, cumin, salt and pepper. Divide into 12 equal lumps and then shape them into patties.
Place burgers on a greased sheet pan and bake for 10 minutes. Turn them over after the initial 10 minutes and then bake for another 10 minutes until cooked through.
In a pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add bell peppers, lemon zest, mirin, salt and pepper and sauté for a couple minutes. Add the spinach and sauté everything together for a quick minute or so before the leaves of the spinach welt too much.
Assemble the sliders with warm buns, patties topped with the sautéed veggies.
Serve with a side of condiments of choice (recommended: Dijon mustard and/or mayonnaise).
