Using green tea, cinnamon and a pinch of saffron, this recipe is a slight variation on your favorite chai.

  • 4 C. cold water
  • 3 tsp. green tea
  • ¼ tsp. ground cloves
  • ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • ½ Tbs. ground cardamom
  • 1 Tbs. ground almond
  • Pinch genuine saffron
  • Sugar to taste
  • Almond flakes

In cold water, boil green tea. When the liquid turns green in 5-10 minutes, add cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and almond, and simmer for 5 minutes. If you have saffron, you may also add it here. Strain, add sugar to taste (no milk) and serve with almond flakes.
