These pretzel's are mom's recipe, so you know they'll be great. Completed in under 30 minutes and as fluffy and moist as they come, these pretzels are fantastic!

8-12 pretzels


  • 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water
  • 1 pkg. active instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 4 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • coarse sea salt for sprinkling

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Dissolve the package of yeast in warm water. Whisky quickly with a fork for a minute.

Sift the sugar, salt, and flour together and slowly add to the mix, stirring throughout. Use a large spoon and mix until thickened. Add flour to the dough until it is no longer sticky. The dough should bounce back when poked.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes or until it forms a ball. Cut into 1/3 C. sections.

Roll each dough piece into a rope. Draw the ends of each rope up and into a pretzel shape.

Mix the egg with a splash of water and dip the pretzels into the egg wash. Place onto a baking sheet, liberally sprinkle with salt and bake for 15 minutes or until cooked through.

Cool and enjoy.
