  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • ½ tablespoons of coconut oil
  • ½ cup of milk
  • ½ teaspoon of ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon of cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon of allspice
  • ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground cloves
  • 2 drops of vanilla extract

In a small pot, boil the water and coconut oil in medium heat. Then, slowly add the cocoa powder, syrup, and cloves. Let the mixture simmer for 5-10 minutes and stir frequently until the liquid has dissolved into a thin chocolate syrup.
Add the remaining ingredients (ginger, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and vanilla extract) and cover with a lid. Let the mixture simmer for another 5-10 minutes. Let it cool for a few minutes.
