Combine yeast, brown sugar and warm water in a bowl. Stir to dissolve the yeast, then set aside.
In another bowl, combine wheat flour, butter, oats, salt and molasses.
When the yeast mixture is frothy, add it slowly to the flour mixture and stir together, making sure everything is well-combined.
After adding the entire yeast mixture, slowly add in all-purpose flour until a dough forms. Flour your surface before kneading the dough.
After kneading for about five minutes, put the dough back in the mixing bowl and cover, allowing it to rise for about one hour or until it has doubled in size.
Push down on the dough to deflate it before scraping it out of the bowl. Cut into even pieces and top with the extra rolled oats.
Place in a greased baking tray and allow to rise for another 45 minutes, or until they have doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 375F.
Beat the egg before brushing over the tops of the rolls lightly, then top with the remaining rolled oats.
Bake for about 10-12 minutes before letting cool on a wire rack.
Serve and enjoy!
