  • 3 large Russet potatoes, peeled and sliced very thin
  • 2 ½ C. heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. pepper
  • ½ C. grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
  • ½ C. grated cheddar cheese
  • ½ C. grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ C. grated Asiago cheese
  • Butter to grease baking dish

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Using butter, grease baking dish and place thin slices of potatoes on the bottom layer, overlapping the edges slightly. In a separate bowl, mix your four cheeses and begin to sprinkle about a fourth of the blend over potatoes. In a mixing bowl with a pouring spout for convenience, whisk together cream, garlic, salt, and pepper. Pour a quarter of this over the cheese and potatoes. Repeat the layering effect and top with additional cheese if you prefer. Bake for one hour to achieve a golden brown top. Let cool and set up for about 20 minutes before serving.
