Arrabbiata sauce is a basic tomato sauce just bumped up with some spice and a mild oregano flavor. This is a great sauce to keep in your fridge and is best served on top of penne pasta.

Ingredients

  • 1 package of penne pasta, cooked and drained
  • 1 can of tomatoes, diced
  • 1 can of tomato sauce
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 cup of Parmesan, grated
  • ½ cup of olive oil
  • ½ cup of fresh oregano, chopped
  • 3 teaspoons of red pepper flakes

Directions

Begin by heating a large skillet with the olive oil, then sauté the garlic, oregano and red peppers flakes for three minutes. Next, pour in the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce and let the sauce simmer for 20 minutes. While the sauce cooks, prepare the penne pasta as described on the package. Toss in the penne pasta with the sauce and let warm for an additional 10 minutes. Serve with a generous portion of Parmesan and enjoy!
