Roasted Sesame Shrimp Skewers

Bring a hint of Asian flair to your holiday table with these roasted sesame shrimp skewers. Serve them with a peanut dipping sauce and your holiday table will be set. Either as an appetizer or a main course, this recipe will be a hit!

  • 4 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 1/2 tbsp dark sesame oil
  • 1 1/2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 12 large shrimp, peeled and de-veined
  • Four 6-inch bamboo skewers

Toast the sesame seeds in a skillet over medium heat.  Remove from heat and transfer half of the seeds to a shallow dish.   Add sesame oil, vinegar and soy sauce and loosely mix with fork.

Insert 3 shrimp onto each skewer and then sit in sesame seed marinade. After 5 minutes, turn shrimp over to coat other side. 

Sprinkle remaining half of sesame seeds on marinated shrimp, rotating for even coating.  Place the shrimp in skillet and sear each side for 2-3 minutes over medium heat.   Pour any remaining marinade over the shrimp and cook until thickens.

Best served while still warm.
