  • 3 egg whites
  • 1⁄4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 6 T. confectioners' sugar
  • 1⁄4 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 pie shell
  • 1⁄4 C. maraschino cherries
  • 2 tsp. condensed milk

In a small saucepan, heat pie filling on low. Meanwhile, in a bowl, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar. Once it is well blended mix in sugar, almond extract, and condensed milk.Remove the pie filling from the heat and pour into pie shell. Now, spread the meringue over hot filling. Let it bake for about 15 minutes. Finally, let it cool and place maraschino cherries on the top of the pie.
