  • 3 Tbsp. rum of choice
  • 4 cups non-fat milk
  • 5 whole cloves
  • ½ tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 12 egg yolks
  • 1 ½ cup sugar
  • 4 cups light cream
  • ½ tsp. ground nutmeg

In a saucepan, combine milk, cloves, ½ tsp. vanilla, and cinnamon and heat over low heat. Using a large bowl, combine egg yolks and sugar. Heat over lowest setting for 10 minutes or until milk comes to a boil. In another large bowl, combine egg yolks and sugar. Whisk in the hot milk mixture and pour mixture into saucepan. Cook this over medium heat and stir constantly. Once ready, stir in rum, cream, 2 tsp. vanilla, and nutmeg. If chilling the drink, add in ice or refrigerate.
