  • 1 C. butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 C. sugar
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1 C. buttermilk
  • 1 (14.25 oz.) pkg. of vanilla cake mix
  • Chocolate Sauce:
  • 1 Tbs. butter
  • 1/2 lb. semisweet chocolate in chunks
  • 1 C. heavy cream

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. With an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, while beating. Stir mix together with salt, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and ginger. Pour buttermilk and cake mix. Beat until batter is thick and smooth. Pour batter in round 9-inch pan and bake for about 30-35 minutes. Cool cake on wire rack.

For chocolate sauce, set saucepan over medium heat. Mix in ingredients until they are melted. Remove from heat and cool. Pour it over bundt cake before serving.
