This appetizer is the classic bruschetta recipe with a spicy twist! Each spicy bite is subdued by the creamy cream cheese and taste of olive oil, finishing with the burst of a juicy tomato in your mouth.

  • ½ of a baguette (so, about 13 inches long), sliced into 1/3 inch pieces
  • 2 cups of cherry tomatoes
  • 1 cup of olive oil
  • 1 cup cream cheese (recommended: garlic and herb cream cheese)
  • ½ cup of Sriracha
  • handful of fresh basil
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Brush each slice of bread with a little olive oil and set on a greased sheet pan. Bake for about 10 minutes until nicely toasted. About halfway through, lightly salt the tomatoes on another greased sheet pan and also bake until the bread is done. Let both cool for about 10 minutes.
When the bread is ready, then brush on Sriracha on one side, spread cream cheese over it, then garnish with the tomatoes, basil and a bit of pepper. Repeat for the rest! Drizzle with more olive oil before serving, if desired.
