  • 1 lb. of prepared pie dough, divided into 4 pieces
  • 1 can of cherry pie filling (21 oz.)
  • 1 teaspoon of almond extract
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ¼ cup of powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a bowl, mix the can of cherry pie filling with almond extract, and lemon juice.
Take a piece of dough and roll it out to an 8” circle. Scoop 1/3 cup of filling in the center, then fold the dough over it. Close the edges by pinching with your finger tips or pressing with a fork. Place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush over it with egg wash, and poke a few small holes on top. Repeat for the 3 other pieces of dough, then bake for 25 minutes.
Once removed from the oven, let cool 20 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar, then serve!
