  • 12 ounces smoked bacon
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ¼ cup flour
  • ½ cup whiskey
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ¾ teaspoon paprika
  • 6 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 ounces shredded provolone cheese
  • 8 ounces macaroni

Boil a large pot of water and cook the macaroni for 8 minutes. Meanwhile, cook the bacon over medium-high heat. When the bacon is crisp, remove the bacon from the pan and drain on paper towels. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the drippings and discard the rest. Crumble the bacon. Combine the chicken broth, whiskey, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and paprika in a bowl. Melt the butter in a skillet and add the reserved bacon fat. Add the flour and whisk the mixture. Then pour in the chicken broth bowl and whisk together. Allow the skillet to bubble for 2 minutes and stir occasionally. Stir in the milk. When the sauce is smooth add the macaroni and bacon. Stir and cook for 5 minutes over medium heat. Serve.
