Scones are a common part of English breakfast or high tea. Although this recipe is not exactly what you’ll find across the pond, these are just as buttery, sweet and flaky.

As the oven preheats to 400 degrees, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda in a large bowl. Slowly blend in the cubed butter until the mixture is sticky. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, whiskey, and heavy cream before adding to the flour and butter mixture. Next, roll the dough out on a floured surface and use a cookie cutter to create circles. Place raisins between two circles, and brush the tops with milk. Bake for 20 minutes then enjoy!
